Dr. Sarah Clark graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Clark specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex eye diseases as well as the pre- and post-operative management of a variety of surgical procedures. As part of her training, she completed rotations in Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta, in areas including comprehensive optometry, glaucoma, retina, pediatrics, cornea/cataracts, specialty contact lens fitting, and oculoplastics. After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Clark completed a residency in Ocular Disease at VisionAmerica of Birmingham (through UAB). She obtained her undergraduate degree in biology, with a minor in political science, from Samford University, where she graduated cum laude.
While at UAB, Dr. Clark served as the American Academy of Optometry Student Chair, the AOA-PAC Liaison, and numerous other leadership positions. Through the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity and Remote Area Medical organizations, she helped provide eye care and glasses to patients in rural areas of Alabama and Tennessee, as well as internationally in Honduras, Colombia, Grenada, and Nicaragua. She was selected for membership in Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for outstanding leadership and service. Dr. Clark continues to volunteer in the greater Birmingham area through Cahaba Valley Health Care.
Dr. Clark is a member of the Birmingham Area Optometric Society, the Alabama Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Clark became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2015.
