Dr. Rebecca J. Doss sees patients in our Homewood and Trussville office. She is originally from Scottsboro, Alabama and graduated from Huntsville High School. Dr. Doss graduated from UAB School of Optometry. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Academic Honor Society and Gold Key International Honor Society for outstanding ethics through leadership in her class and profession. She graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, Birmingham Area Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Doss also received advanced training in pediatric eye care from the UAB School of Optometry.
Dr. Doss practices primary eye care optometry for the entire family. She sees patients for complete eye examinations including glaucoma and diabetic exams, contact lens fittings, LASIK evaluations and laser cataract surgery pre- and post-operative care. She fits specialty contact lenses and scleral lenses for patients with corneal conditions. re.
Dr. Doss volunteers for Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama and leads two girl scout troops in Avondale and Mountain Brook. She volunteers for Cahaba Valley Healthcare and enjoys providing eye exams for those recovering from addiction. She enjoys training students from UAB School of Optometry. She is also involved in the InfantSee program, providing comprehensive eye and vision assessments for infants in the first year of life regardless of a family’s income or access to insurance coverage. Dr. Doss resides in Birmingham and loves hiking, anything outdoors and spending time with her three children.
