Dr. Jennifer Risting graduated with honors from Indiana University – Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Science. She continued her education at the Indiana University School of Optometry and received her Doctorate in Optometry with high honors. While at optometry school, she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society, Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, and Volunteers Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). In addition, she was an associate instructor teaching clinical examination skills to first- and second-year optometry students.
She then went on to complete a post-doctoral ocular disease residency program at the nationally renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Medical School where she trained with specialists in cornea, retina, glaucoma, and neuro-ophthalmology.
She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is also an active member of the American Optometric Association. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. Her clinical interests are in dry eyes, retinal disease, glaucoma, and pre- and post-operative care. Dr. Risting is married to her husband, Chris and has twin sons.
