Dr. Tyler Pharr Hamby is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated with magna cum laude honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After graduating with cum laude honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2019, Dr. Hamby began practicing as an active-duty optometrist in the US Navy. After tours in California and North Carolina, he is now completing a residency in Ocular Disease with emphasis in Primary Care and Retina at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.
He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometrist Association. Dr. Hamby is married to his wife, Emily, and has two children, Brooks and Alana.
