Dr. Mark Bearman has been selected as Birmingham’s “Best Ophthalmologist” in a poll by Birmingham Magazine readers. Dr. Bearman, president of VisionFirst Eye Center, has been practicing ophthalmology since 1989. Dr. Bearman has performed more than twenty-five thousand cataract surgeries over the course of his career. He is an experienced ophthalmologist who also performs state-of-the-art vision correction techniques. Dr. Bearman was one of the first surgeons in Birmingham to begin using the ReSTOR lens, a multifocal lens that minimizes the need for eyeglasses for cataract patients and he was the first surgeon in Alabama to perform cataract surgery using the LENSx laser. Dr. Bearman’s dedication and unique home-like demeanor make his patients feel like members of his extended family.
